Status of Apple HomeKit Support
-
@leemorgan Having just set it up the process is as follows:
You need iOS 13.3. or later on your apple device.
Using the flic app, select your HubLR and then select the flic that you want to add to HomeKit.
At the top of the options for that button should be a slider "Add to HomeKit", slide it ON
You get a warning that this will overwrite any exisiting actions for that button, so agree to that.
If this is the first time that you've added a button to HomeKit the app will then take you through process of adding your hub into the HomeKit ecosystem. As long as you Homekit account is the administrator for your setup this is just a matter of clicking 'yes' a few times.
Once this is done the flic app shows the button as being connected to HomeKit. You cannot add additional actions (i.e. Non-homekit ones) to the actions for each button as I can tell, nor can you have some actions being HomeKit and some non-Homekit :-(.
To set actions for the buttons you have to go into the HomeKit app and then select the flic. Don't try and go through automations, it doesn't work that way.
Once you've selected a flic then you can select a scene, shortcut or accessory to control for each type of action (click, double click or hold).
Hope that helps,

How can I tell which Hub I have?
In the Flic app it shows Hub Firmware 3.0.2Ah, I found it on the physical device...
I have a Flic HUB LR.So I guess the question now, is how to I setup HomeKit for the Flic?
-
@Emil ok. So I need a new hub And me who ordered 12 new buttons and no new hub on Friday...
(Been a long time customer, bought my first flics in jan 2016 and backed the hub in June 2017 so am a tid bit disappointed ) -
@sessan we have only certified the second hub for Homekit
-
Is the first hub unusable for HomeKit? Been a bit to early adopter of Flic so mine seems to be too old
-
@b-bech-l now

Good afternoon all,
@Emil i am also eagerly anticipating HK compatibility since it was promised at the launch of Flic 1 hub, which I bought, and promised for the Flic 2 hub, which I also bought... So although sadly I am used to non-delivery of promises by now, I remain an optimist.
Yet as 2020 is drawing to a close, now is definitely the promised "Late 2020" - unless you're planning a Christmas special.
So, Any progress on Homekit developments?
Davy

@Emil - Great news, at least ^^
And how "bulletproof" is that plan then?
how likely it is that the current plan doesn't goes as planned? -

@b-bech-l Yeah we're also sorry that this has taken longer time than expected. With "according to the plan", I refer to the current plan from summer when we said "late 2020".
-
@Emil "according to plan", seems a bit over the top... the "plan" was for HomeKit support to be released almost a year back from now, when I bought my flics. . .
my hub + flics have been sitting in a drawer for almost a year now. . . . its Crazy... especially now that I can buy a very similar button from phillips in the exact same size as the flics, that includes HomeKit support... but now I have my investment in quite a few buttons I can't use for what my intentions was...Its too late for me to return my equipment to flic, cause a have waited for so long on the famous "HomeKit support very soon" promise...
Guess that's a way to make money too...
Make a good selling point, and then stretch it out as much as possible, and keep promising pots of gold just around the corner every time questions come in...
Do that for long enough, and the costumer can't return the equipment, and you make bucks...
Easy Peasy...All jokes aside, i really feel handled like that ^^
And I really don't like it... -
@hello_marley the ball is moving according to plan. Please stay tuned

@Emil Wow.... and now its updated to "late 2020" on the official page...
https://flic.io
when (or if) that happens, its been af year from my purchase, where I was promised "early 2020"....
Its really not cool folks...
at least you could offer some kind of compensation...So far, I haven't shared my "adventure" anywhere else, but maybe its about time...

I am also one of those customers who bought the hub specifically for the HomeKit promise. Early 2020 has turned into Mid 2020 and that seems to be slipping away. Throw us a bone once in awhile with a status update.
-
@Emil - Not a very detailed answer tho. . .
you guys might not take this very serious, but I assure you that I/we do. . .
as I have mentioned earlier, the HomeKit thingie was the only reason I bought your product... and I bought it around Christmas....
thats a long time to wait, considering that u guys told everyone that HomeKit would come early 2020...
I trusted u guys. . . U got problems last time u spoke about HomeKit in regards to flic1, which never saw the day of light...
is THIS the exact same case, or what?Give us something to hold on to man, and change our "hope" to "excitement" instead... Plz?

@bulk Yes we have made the submission.
