How to reset a Flic

While trying to connect a Flic, I keep getting the error it is already paired to another device. Which is not possible. Is there no way to "RESET" a flic and add it anew to a hub or a device? Thanks

@deanlewis how did you get the button open to pull the battery? I can't believe both changing the battery and resetting the device is so difficult; I'm tempted to throw everything out and start over with new ones.

@8jo7ytj0z13j "while you scan" means when you press "add new flic" in the app. You can pair a flic to multiple devices, but a flic can only be connected to one device at a time. If the flic is already connected while you try to pair it to a new device, you will get an error message indicating this.

@emil Not sure if anybody is still monitoring this, but I'd rather not start a new topic with the same question. I have quite a number of Flic 2s and I have lost track of what one if them does. Apparently it's already paired to something, but I do not know to what (hub or phone). Hence I do not know how to unpair it. Before going own the battery route (I find it tricky to open and I'd rather not stick the button anywhere if I do not have to) I'd like to know what the alternative is.
I do not quite understand what "while you scan" means. I do not know if it's connected to hub or phone, how do I unpair it then? If I press it says it's paired.
It's probably very simple, but I do not know how to do it.Thanks!

Took me about 12 attempts to reset it using the battery removal method; it finally worked. Many thanks

Yes, see https://flic.io/manuals/flic2 how to reset button. But you don't need to do that if you just want to pair to a new device. Press and hold for at least 7 seconds while you scan will be enough.
