Same here with the twist that our "household" is basically my wife and I, but the flics are in our 2 cars and are used to call a phone number via our phone to open the gate. Two problems we have are: 1 sometimes we switch cars, 2 flic doesn't work with Meizu phone

RE: Android 7, All Flics Locked
@Emil https://shkspr.mobi/blog/2016/02/cheap-bluetooth-buttons-and-linux/, probably they're not BLE, whatever that means, but they work.

RE: Android 7, All Flics Locked
@defilade1310 I have similar "saga" experience The current status is that it's "solved" by the fact that Flic doesn't work on my wife's phone, so I don't "need" the Flics to work on multiple devices and they work fine with mine, however I feel pretty bad with my purchase. I spent $110 on 4 Flics, and they have more problems than times when they work. Previously I bought 3 cheep Bluetooth buttons for less then $2 each, and I have to tell they work without problem (the reason I bought the Flics is that they have the android sdk)

RE: Android 7, All Flics Locked
Strange, but try to unlock them as it suggests: hold the flic for more than 7 seconds, then retry (Or "download" is how it's called now)

Settings doesn't save the changes
I set up my flic android app (1.7.5) and hit the back arrow in the top of the screen. Then I enter the settings again, and some of my settings are changed. I set them up again, then leave the settings, and get back again. Some of the settings are changed again. Some of them have ridiculous values (like the Country: Saudi Arabia, I've never been there in my life)

RE: TWO DEVICES
@Emil unfortunatelly not much better. I tried now with Nexus 5x, and to tell you the truth, things are getting even worse:
- Yesterday I set up my old phone: Nexus 5 and my Flic account and my 4 Flics. I set the turquoise to call the gate's number on click and call my wife on double-click.
- Today I connected the the turquoise Flic to my wife's Meizu phone (it worked after a few restarts of the app and clear data). Note: She uses a different Flic account! I set up that Click calls a phone number (with Hebrew characters in the contact's name in her phone's contact list), Double Click calls ME!
- Just now I logged in to MY Flic account (the one I used previously in my old Nexus 5) from my new phone (Nexus 5X). I do see my 4 Flics, and there's an icon on each of them teling me that they're locked (makes sense, 3 of them are locked to my old phone, and the turquoise is locked to both to my old phone and my wife's phone) I pressed the flic for 7 seconds and clicked DOWNLOAD (doesn't make sense, the Try again I had in the other phone was more logical to me) BUT when I enter the configuration of the turquoise Flic I was shocked! I saw that Double Click's action is to call ME! This is an enormous BUG, as in all places it was stated that the actions are saved in the phone/account and not "in the flic". How come that when I logged in with my flic account I get the settings of my wife's flic account/phone???? I also saw that the Click action has ???????????? in the name instead of the Hebrew characters....
Look, I am a programmer myself, and I like to help, but I don't feel I am getting much for my money here. The reaction time is way to slow, and doesn't address the problems. The bugs I just posted now... they are so huge, I can't possibly imagine how can it be that you never tried the 1 flic 2 phones, 1 flic 2 accounts scenarios!!!! Or if you never tried them then at least don't write in the forum that it works!
I am seriously considering returning my 4 flics, I paid $110 for them and the time I am investing in debugging and waiting for days to get a response doesn't worth the money. For $25 I can get a Raspberry PI that works and knows a bit more than a flic....

RE: TWO DEVICES
@Emil Nexus 5 and Meizu M3 Note. It looks that it works now. Is it possible that there's a long timeout? Something like the Flic has to turn itself off in order to forget? When I followed the steps (turn off bluetooth on phone #1) it doesn't (always) seem to work.

RE: iOS App
@m.taylor sorry: after you choose action, then "Phone Control" and inside that list you'll see Phone Call. (I am in android, I hope that doesn't mean you won't see the same menu in iOS)
-
RE: iOS App
@m.taylor in the flic app: click on the flic you want to set up, choose action (click|double click|hold), then choose "Phone Call", then set the number you want to call, then save

RE: TWO DEVICES
@Emil the same, actually it's worse, because now when it says that my Flic is locket to another device, I press for 10 seconds, then Try again, then it "found" the flic but can't connect to it with ridiculous reason: too many flics in my account (0? all together I have 4 physical flics) and that it's too far away (10cm? It could find it but not to connect to it?) It looks like some BUG...
-
RE: Sharing Flic
@Emil what you say now is the same what I understood from the previous explanation above of how Flic + Android app are supposed to work, but it seems it doesn't.
For example right now I tried to do it again, after pressing for 10 seconds it indeed "found a new flic" but then: "Couldn't connect to the Flic, Make sure you don't have to many Flics on your account and the Flic is within reach". Well I do have at most 4 physical flics, 0 in the account of the phone I am trying. Is that too muany? Anf the phone is 10 cm from the Flic, and BTW it found it... So what's the problem?
BTW it is very annoying to write in these small textboxes in the forum, when half of them is hidden below the bottom of the window (Mac, Google Chrome)...

RE: iOS App
@saihat99 you can make a phonecall, I am using it for that too
-
RE: TWO DEVICES
Actually it's even worse: I hoped to be able to reconnect it with phone #1 the same way (disable bluetooth on phone #2, then hold flic for 8 seconds, then try to "add" it again to phone #1, but it doesn't work, it always tells me the Flic is locked to another device...)
-
RE: TWO DEVICES
It doesn't work for me. I connected it to phone #1, then to phone #2 (had to hold Flic for & seconds). But then when I turn off bluetooth on phone #2, I want to use it from phone #1, but it says the Flic is out of range, and even when I search for flics, it says that it's locked (to phone #2)...
I need a solution where the Flic is associated with both phones, and it is able to automatically "pair" with the one that is near it (and I don't care which one it connects when both phones are around, since they would do the same action anyway)
-
RE: Sharing Flic
I just did that (with the 2nd option: another Flic account), and it looks more like a one way transfer of the Flic from one phone to another than "sharing", because once I finished setting up the 2nd phone I turned off the bluetooth on the 2nd phone, and turned on bluetooth on the 1st phone, but now the situation is the same: 1st phone says the Flic is locked to another device, I should hold it for 7 secs....
For my use-case this is not feasable (I have 2 buttons, one in each of our cars, and I set up both my phone and my wife's to call a number when we click (calling that number opens the gate), and since we sometimes switch cars we need both Flics to ba able to work with either of our phones, but obviously without this 7 sec + dealing with your phone for 2 minutes things, 'cause that kills the purpose of using the Flic, as I could also pick my phone (while driving) and call the number... but this is exactly we don't want to do and the reason I bought the Flics...)

Opening the gates
We have 2 gates where I live, and I set one Flic up so that it opens gate #1 on click and gate #2 on hold. I'll stick the button to my car's dashboard.
However here comes the tricky part: I set up another Flic for my wife's phone and car. So far so good. But her car is the family's main car, so sometimes I drive it. It would be nice to be able to "pair" the button in her car to both of our phones...

RE: Simulate flic button
Not even for development in android emulator? Even from command line would be good enough.
