Hello,
I'm excited about the Flic button, I really hope it solves my problem.
What I want when I press the button:
Run a HomeKit scene (or an Apple Shortcut), and then after 10 minutes run another scene (or an Apple Shortcuts).
Can Flic do a delay like this with iOS/homekit/apple? Do I need a hub for that? Which one?
Thank you!
P.S. My specific problem is that I want 2 of my Ecobee thermostats to lower their temperature while I shower (because they all access the same furnace and if too many radiator zones are running then the shower water can't hold temperature for multiple showers). After 10 minutes I want the thermostats to go back to the scheduled temperature.
Currently I do this:
- Before shower, Say "Shower Time" to run a HomeKit Scene that sets Ecobee 1 and Ecobee 2 to 60 degrees (effectively turning off heat for a few hours, but at least heat would still come back on if temp drops below 60)
- After shower, Say "Normal One" to run a Scene that resumes temp schedule on Ecobee 1, and then "Normal Two" to resume temp schedule on Ecobee 2 (unfortunately those can not be combined in one Scene). I also have a Shortcut called "Normal Heat" that resumes schedule for Ecobee 1 and Ecobee 2.
But a button would be better than speaking to Siri or having a phone nearby. And everyone in our family often forgets after the shower to say Normal One/Two or Normal Heat, and the heat stays at 60 until the house feels cold and someone notices and does Normal Heat. I would like "Shower Time" to include the first step (temp to 60) and 10 minutes later the second step (Resume schedule).
I hope Flic can do this.
Thank you.
