I'd forgotten about this post. I received my Flic Hub quite a while ago and was unable to use it for my whole-house solution of replacing light switches with Flic buttons. For me, it was a complete waste of money, and I'm upset it didn't fit my needs.

Have there been any updates to the Flic Hub software to allow scaling to the number of Flic buttons and all possible configurations? I actually do use every press state for each button and more.

Is it possible the range has been improved through a firmware update? My biggest problem from my very first use of the Flic Hub was its extremely limited range compared to various versions of my Raspberry Pis. I'm not sure how 64 devices would be even feasible considering just 1 device would quickly go out of range. It's not that I mean to carry my buttons around the house, just that I'd have to buy about 10 Flic Hubs to cover the area of 4 Raspberry Pis from my initial range testing.

@oskar I also think its really sad, that there was never any follow up considering developer access from your side although this was mentioned in the indiegogo. There you state "basically an advanced Linux computer, much like a better-looking Raspberry Pi, with a two separate Bluetooth controllers (yep, two)" but a bird (in this case the Raspberry Pi) in the hand is worth two in the bush. I would really appreciate having ssh access to the flic hub to do custom scripts. One way would be to provide a standalone linux version so you don't have to worry about security of the platform for yourself. Much like the solution you offer with the fliclib-linux-hci on github where you can run your own flic server. I was hoping this would happen with the flic hub too.

i really only have one primary use for flic. i have the button mounted on my motorcycle and i can use it while i am in motion and when i am wearing gloves. i video record my entire ride and with so many video files and hours of footage at the end of the day/week, it is difficult to know where to go back to if i want to check on something; it's hard to remember when and where. one click and i send myself a note containing the long/lat/datetimestamp; armed with a list of events, i can narrow it down and make it easier to review files at the end of the week.
