    • Third method of controlling lights

I have three dimmable light controllers for the back room of my house:

      • Kitchen downlighters
      • Dining room downlighters
      • Dining room pendant

All three have their own momentary switch in a single-gang faceplate, though I generally use voice commands via my Echo Show.

My partner, though, has great difficulty getting any of the four Echo devices in the house to understand any commands... and my seven-year-old granddaughter cannot reach the switches... Enter my Flic 2!

I have a Flic set low enough for the granddaughter to easily reach. A single click turns on all three sets of lights and double turns off all three sets of lights.

The granddaughter has no problem, though my partner still yells and swears at Alexa! 😖

    • Integration seems to be the weak link

I really like the Flic concept; however, what I, and I believe many others need is to see practical integration with the likes of Home Assistant.

One post here: https://community.flic.io/post/20502 describes the issue well... speed and responsiveness.

The answer from support? Route via IFTTT.

As we all know, IFTTT is a paid-for service, so not readily available, and the number of IFTTT projects is limited by the amount of money paid.

With a single Flic button costing around £25, it's unrealistic to add buttons and IFTTT subscriptions for relatively simple functions (click and double click toggles)

Energy is spent on making farting sounds, vibrating the phone etc. but the focus should be on the wider use.

When I asked about direct integration (https://community.flic.io/post/20553) the response was to use an internet request... This is crazy and, possibly, beyond the typical home user.

      Please prioritise this...

    • Flic Hub LR and Home Assistant

I have Home Assistant running on my Raspberry Pi 4B as the OS (not docker).

Directly underneath my RPi4 is my Flic Hub LR. Both are connected to my router via Ethernet.

Given that Home Assistant is so popular I, foolishly, believed it would be straightforward to connect the two via the Home Assistant Integrations... it isn't!

Home Assistant is asking for a "pairing code". Flic support in this forum is saying that the code is not available.

I don't have a HomePod and don't want to spend £100 on buying one, though I am an Apple user (phone, tablet, and Macbook).

Surely, there must be a simple way to be able to use my Flic Hub LR within Home Assistant... But how?

    • RE: PoE Flic Hub LR

      @Emil
Okay, that's a shame but thanks for answering.

Maybe a suggestion for the next iteration of the hub?

Can the Flic Hub LR be powered via PoE?

    • RE: Flic LR range?

@Emil Is this still the case?

My house has very dense concrete block walls so any RF has difficulty. I would like to have one or two additional Flic LR Hubs around the house, probably connected by WiFi to the router or, hopefully, by Ethernet.
